Hi Joe! Just came across your videos and I really like them! I have some questions unrelated to this particular video but if you could help me that'd be great! My sibs and a couple friends and I have a little band. We would like to record our stuff. The Zoom l-12SD and the Tascam DP 24SD are intriguing because they record to a SD card. Do you think the finished audio quality is as good with one of those as a standard interface would be, like a tascam 1800?

Jim Patrick says:

Brit Compressor is not part of Presonus and has to be purchased separately at around $260. It comes free with the latest hardware mixer.

FSBass says:

So any criticism gets removed ?
What happened to the comments about the vocal melody ?

81awesomeness says:

Hey Joe really enjoying this series, thanks!

Clinton Maher says:

I'm sure many will disagree and I'll get flamed for this but I just don't think mixing this type of material is your cup of tea. The music as a whole lacks power.. When mixing this type of music ITB you really need to use saturation, console emulations, soft clipping, light limiting etc in the right amounts in the right areas to get the power, warmth and attack you need. I feel like the eq generally is missing the mark as well. The method of boosting and sweeping when eq'ing is the culprit here I think… It really messes up your ears when you do it that way and everything ends up sounding a bit warped and unnatural. I like your mixing of your regular material but I feel this stuff is completely different and the important plugins needed to get this stuff to a pro level generally don't come stock. Also agree with some of the others about the vocals just not feeling right in this song, but that's not your fault.

James R says:

Like your videos but any chance you could do one without the wall of sound thing. How about a couple of finger picked acoustic guitars, decent female vocalist, double bass, brushes drummer as an example. Be nice to hear dynamic range and the mods you would make.

Kresimir Milinovic says:

Joe, keep doing a great job!

João Pinto says:

Tbh I preferred without compression, your EQ was great!

Enice43 says:

tune the vocals…some out of pitch
