Working with Loops and Samples is very trendy in today’s music productions.
There’s a lot you can achieve by using them. Sometimes adding some in an actual organic recording will add a lot to a production.
Using them as an inspiration can also be a very good arrangement/composition creative tool.

When it’s time to manage loops and samples, Cubase Pro offers several tools that will add to your creativity and make your life easier
In this video I will show you how to Produce Music with Loops and Samples using the cool features found Cubase Pro. Also, all the loops and samples that I use in this video comes from Splice that is a HUGE royalty free sound library.

Great long video that at the end one wants to be even longer.
I wonder, that seems to be your last song, but I am not sure if all these loops and arrangements were in the released one, with vocals. If don’t, what are doing, a kind of electronic version or similar?
And: if later you record, for example, your real drums in the song, how do you manage the mix? Do you handle the different kick or snare loops as second, third kick and snares, sending them to the kick and snare groups together with the real ones, or do you handle the things from the loops separately?

Alain says:

This was packed with useful info! I only wish you had mentioned how you were using the Chord Track in this project…. Was it being used?

Angelina Gargano says:

Hi Chris, great video. You said that splice is royalty free but EULA says they own the master side I believe…Is this a problem when you create a new recording that is released commercially using splice sounds but converted into new song? Is there a legal issue with using their sounds? Thanks.

Matt F. says:

Excellent video Chris. I'm new to Cubase Pro 10.5 and I had just started looking into Splice a week ago. This pushed it over the top. Many thanks!

Alain says:

I would love to see SLATE DIGITAL do rent to own!

Country T says:

Love this video! You make it look so freaking easy. I've never messed with samples maybe I'll try now after watching this education tool. Thank you Sir!

Your tutorials have helped a heap.

Great video !!!!

Mark Stretton says:

Thanks for all the inspiration. I use loops as a way of introducing a 'randomness ' … a way of driving originality in my (mostly guitar/bass) music. 'Mashing up' genres is one way of doing it, I guess.

Sano Sounds says:

Great video as usual!!! Love this one because i was about to buy LOgic for the Live Loops… but this gave me a lot of new ideas TKS!

Stereotactic Music says:

I really enjoy your music Chris and I didn't know the slice function in Groove Agent,, very cool, thanks.

Kum Studio says:

Thank you so much Chris for amazing tutorial again, as always. I didn't use Splice yet, but I'm using LoopCloud, something similiar to Splice but with much more options to try if loop our any sound matching your project BEFORE buying. If you didn't yet, I'm suggesting you to try out LoopCloud.

Pablo Vázquez says:

It's amazimg Chris!!! Great Job!!

Rasol zamini says:

All the the time using sample ,Thank you, Chris!

Redford music says:

As a House –and dancemusic producer–, I use Splice quite a lot. But instead of using the app, I add the Splice Download folder to the Mediabay. This way I can preview downloaded samples in realtime and in key with the song I'm working on. If I drag a sample into the project, it's already in key and in musical mode.
Great video once again Chris. I'm quite impressed with your production skills. This song you are working on sounds really nice.

Craig McDonald says:

Great video Chris! The vocal loop at the end could have been easily rectified by right clicking on it and select find in pool, then input the correct tempo. The problem was that cubase didn't detect the tempo properly because there was not enough rhythmic elements in the sample. It happened a lot with non rhythmic samples actually. I appreciate your way of doing it though!!

Макс Степовиков says:

Спасибо за клевые фишки!

Iasonas Moraitis says:

Very very nice video Chris…thanks for that…!!!

MGM TheGrand says:

Comprehensive, concise, informative, interactive. Thank you, Chris!

Alfred Thérien says:

Great info, as always! Thanks Brother, you’ve renewed my interest in loops….

Daniel Thamrin says:
