Thanks! Share it with your friends!

I ran a quick test after installing Mavericks on my Macbook Pro to see if it could run Pro Tools 10 and 11. I installed 11 today and it also boots just fine …

AVID’S list of problems with Pro Tools and Mavericks. THEY DO NOT SUPPORT

The uninstaller for Pro Tools 10.3.7 and earlier will not work on Mac OS X
10.9. For this reason Avid does not recommend using Pro Tools 10.3.7 or
earlier with Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). PTSW-185438.

Increased -6101 errors with Pro Tools 11.0.2 and earlier using Built-In
sound output on Mac OS X 10.9. Pro Tools 11.0.x may encounter AAE error
6101 and Pro Tools 10.3.7 and earlier may encounter DAE error 6101 when
using the built in sound output on the Mac with OS X 10.9. This occurs
with high frequency at HW Buffer sizes: 32, 64 and 128. It occurs with
lower frequency at HW Buffer sizes: 256, 512 and 1024. This occurs after
Error Suppression is enable in the Playback Engine and playback is
attempted immediately. Dismissing this error and resuming playback
resolves the problem. The error message is, “A CPU overload error
occurred.” PTSW-186179.

The Pro Tools HD driver and Nitris DX and Mojo DX driver un-installers
won’t work on Mac OS X 10.9. It is not possible to un-install the Pro
Tools HD drivers, Nitris DX drivers or Mojo DX drivers on Mac OS X 10.9.
An update to these drivers will be provided that will be “signed” for
installation and will allow the drivers to be un-installed. PTSW-187157.

Nitris DX and Mojo DX drivers are not “signed” for Mac OS X 10.9. After
rebooting the computer with a DX peripheral attached, an alert dialog is
seen informing that the Kernel extension is not from an identified
developer. After dismissing the dialog the DX peripheral should be able to
function. UME-924.

Inability to use Venue Link with S3L and AVB with Mac OS X 10.9. Selecting
Avid AVB64 will result in error, “There are currently no interfaces in I/O
Setup known to be connected to VENUE”. There are no work arounds to this
issue. Sessions will not be created with Avid AVB64 as the peripheral.

Avid AVB device appears multiple times in the Network Device selection on
Mac OS X 10. Within the Mac’s Audio MIDI Setup’s Network Device window the
following Avid AVB devices are listed when an SL3 system is present: “Avid
AVB64″, “AVB64″, “Stage16″ and “S3Mix”. Only the “Avid AVB64″ should be
selectable. The “AVB64″ refers to the “E3Engine64″. PTSW-186310.

The Eleven Rack, 003, Digi 002, Mbox (3rd Gen), Fast Track models and
Mobile Pre driver un-installers won’t work on Mac OS X 10.9. It is not
possible to un-install the drivers for the following: Eleven Rack, 003
Console, 003 Rack, Digi 002 Console, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox 3 Pro, Mbox 3,
Mbox 3 Mini, Fast Track C600 & C400, Fast Track Ultra 8R & Ultra, Fast
Track Pro & MKII and Mobile Pre MKII.

Did you try to use reason in rewire mode with pro tools?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how stable would you say OS Mavericks 10.9 is at
fully supporting Pro Tools 10.3.7 & Pro Tools 11.0.1?

Eager to upgrade to Mavericks but I’m not sure if I want to risk it.
Currently running Pro Tools 10 with a Fast Track C400 on 10.6.8

Pro Tools 11 update: Just recorded 48 tracks at 48k 24bit with channel
strip on every channel for two hours on my internal macbookpros second
drive no avid hardware attached. I tried to make it have an error by using
the screensaver, swiping between multiple desktops, Also put the mixer
window on one desktop and the edit window on a second desktop and swiped
between them. I did all the things that used to make my mbox pro and pro
tools 8 and 9 cause an error. So far its been very stable.

D3adMetal says:

Pro Tools 9 works flawless with Mavericks. But you will need to use the
9.0.6 version (for both Mountain Lion and Mavericks)
